The CWFL Summit Experience
Empowering Faith in Action

The CWFL Summit is a transformative gathering that unites women of faith leaders to tackle some of the most pressing challenges that burden today’s world.

These yearly gatherings provide a unique space for collaboration, learning, and advocacy, amplifying the voices of those unheard and empowering the more privileged to speak out.

At each Summit you will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from trailblazing global leaders whose work has directly impacted the lives of women and children

  • Learn firsthand about pressing global issues that disproportionately affect women

  • Be inspired to think critically about the role you play in your own community and remain hopeful for a better tomorrow.

The Power of Women-led Advocacy

At CWFL, we believe that women leaders play a pivotal role in advancing justice, equality, and peace. Through our summits, we not only address urgent global issues, but we also create opportunities for women to learn from one another, build cross-cultural connections, and shape real solutions to the challenges impacting women and children worldwide.

Who is the summit for?

Our summits are tailored for women faith leaders, advocates, educators, and policy influencers working to bring justice and peace to their communities. These events are essential for those who want to connect with global changemakers and explore how faith can drive advocacy.

A day of learning, networking, and inspiring
hope for the future.

2024 Summit Recap

Our inaugural Summit, Women Leading Change: Threads of Hope was held in Washington, D.C. on November 21. It brought together over 60 women of faith leaders from multifaith backgrounds.

We were honored to have IRF Secretariat President Nadine Maenza and ICRD Interim President/CEO Martine Miller as our keynote speakers.

Both of these incredible leaders addressed global issues that women are facing around the world.

Nadine Maenza gives opening keynote on “How Women Leaders Are Key to Building Cohesive Societies.”

Martine Miller gives second keynote: “Faith in Action: Women Leading Change Through Peacemaking in Times of Escalating Violent Conflict.”

Following the keynote speakers, attendees heard from experts in education, advocacy, and modern day slavery (human trafficking).

A panel featuring Rev. Dr. Erin Clifford-Riese, Fatimah Popal, and Niki Roberts, and moderated by Afeefa Syeed, discussed their work in each of these prominent areas and how women on the frontlines are leading change.

Margaret Weber, CWFL Program Director, introduces the panelists. Seated L-R: Afeefa Syeed (Moderator), Fatimah Popal, Niki Roberts, and Rev. Dr. Erin Clifford-Riese
