Ghada Ghazal

Ghada A. Ghazal is a Syrian scholar, educator, and advocate based in the Washington, D.C., area. She is a PhD candidate in Qur’ānic Studies at Charles Sturt University, where her research examines how the structure and coherence of the Qur’an shape interpretation. She holds an MA in Islamic Studies, specializing in Comparative Religions, from Hamad Bin Khalifa University and an MA in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick, as well as formal ijāzāt in Qur’ānic recitation.

Ghada previously served as Associate Director of Research at KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL). She has contributed to academic, interfaith, and community initiatives advancing women’s dignity and agency. Her scholarship and advocacy are informed by her experience of war, interrupted education, displacement from Syria, and rebuilding her life across Qatar and the United States.
