Kristen Lundquist Mahosky, LGPC, NCC
Kristen serves as a Senior Fellow for the Center for Women, Faith & Leadership (CWFL) at the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) in Washington, D.C. Through her work, Kristen has cultivated a passion for working with individuals from many different backgrounds and cultures; and she regularly aids individuals struggling in difficult contexts around the world.
In addition to her role of Senior Fellow at CWFL, Kristen is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) practicing as a counselor under clinical supervision since 2017. She is the founder of The Heights Counseling and Wellness, LLC, where she serves clients in the DC metro area.
Kristen holds an M.A. in World History from Eastern Illinois University, a B.A. in Theology and a B.A. in History with a focus on Near East Languages from The University of Northwestern - St. Paul, and a certificate in Religion and Conflict Resolution from Nyack College.
Kristen is also a graduate of Messiah University with a Master of Art’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kristen also holds the National Certified Counselor (NCC) designation through the National Board of Certified Counselors, and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through PESI and Evergreen Certifications. Kristen has completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). To compliment her wellness practice, Kristen is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance's 200-hr Teacher Training Program, is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Council on Strength and Fitness, and holds a Certificate in Nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh.
