Soliha Yodgorova

UZBEKISTAN | 2025 FELLOW

Soliha Yodgorova was born into an Uzbek-Muslim family in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Studies and is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies in the same field at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (IIAU). 

Her academic focus lies in Islamic studies, particularly Islamic history, culture, and jurisprudence. Her coursework encompasses diverse subjects, including Islamic Law, Ulum al-Quran (Quranic sciences), and Islamic source studies. Soliha also contributes to the ICESCO Department of Islamic Studies and Islamic Civilization at the IIAU as a volunteer, assisting professors with research projects. Her responsibilities include gathering relevant literature, analyzing classical and contemporary texts, and engaging in academic discussions. This experience has significantly enhanced her critical thinking and analytical skills, which are essential for her aspirations in academia and community service. 

Soliha has also gained professional experience through an internship in the Resource Treasury Department of the IIAU, where she worked as a librarian. Additionally, during the 2023–2024 academic year, she contributed to the Women's Department of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan as an improver, focusing on community outreach and development. 

Her scholarly contributions include the publication of her article, "The Application of the Term Sunnah in Islamic Law," in the scientific journal Islom Tafakkuri (Islamic Thought) in the spring of 2024. 

Recently, Soliha was awarded an international scholarship for the 2024–2025 academic year, granted by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). This recognition reflects her dedication to advancing Islamic studies and her potential as a leader in her field.
