Siti Kasapila
CAMEROON | 2025 FELLOW
Siti Kasapila is a dedicated, compassionate, and friendly social worker with a deep passion for improving the well-being of underserved populations, particularly children, adolescent girls, and women. With over 10 years of work experience in rural development and peace building, she has become a strong advocate for gender equality, focusing on Gender Programming, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), dignified menstruation, women and girls' rights, empowerment, and counseling.
Siti holds a BA in Media for Development from the University of Malawi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Peace building and Conflict Transformation from Makerere University. Her educational background, combined with her extensive field experience, enables her to effectively address complex social issues through a combination of advocacy, education, and community engagement.
A key part of Siti's work includes piloting a GBV project in Dzaleka Refugee Camp, where she is working with men—many of whom were former perpetrators of GBV—to transform them into models of change in the fight against violence. This innovative initiative seeks to break the cycle of violence by addressing root causes and promoting positive masculinity and behavior change through education, capacity-building, and community dialogue.
Siti remains committed to making a lasting impact, not only through her work with individuals but by fostering broader social change that supports the empowerment and rights of women and girls in vulnerable communities.
