Sr. Hortencia Del Villar, SAC, M.S.

Sr. Hortencia Del Villar, a religious of the Guardian Angel, is a Senior Program Officer for the Hilton Foundation’s Catholic Sisters Initiative, supporting congregations, organizations, and human development activities in the U.S. and Latin America. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership and portfolio management.

Before joining the Foundation, Sr. Hortencia served as Director of Social Concerns & Community Outreach for the Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino. She was responsible for coordinating direct services for low-income families, advocacy, and capacity building. She served as the Diocesan Director for Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) of the United State Conference of Catholic Bishops and supported CCHD local grants for community organizing partners to address poverty.

Sr. Hortencia worked for 14 years in anti-human trafficking, migration, and prevention of domestic violence in the Philippines, Mexico, and El Salvador. She holds degrees in Clinical Psychology and Religious Studies.
